1. The function of music in creating and sustaining a contradictory sense of identity.
2. The authors quotes from different music genre and artists and different eras.
3. People try to emulate others just to find that out that that isn't their true idea. After they've overcamed that that phase, they become their own person and learn how to accept themselves for who they are without the influence of society.

What does Bitzer not mean by “rhetorical situation”? In other words, how does his view differ from past views that readers might compare to his? Bitzer does not mean that if you understand a text or any type of writing prompt, that does not mean that you will understand the context or the claim of the prompt. Also he states that rhetoric does not necessarily mean that it must be embedded in historic context.
What does Bitzer mean by “rhetorical situation”? Bitzer refers to rhetorical situation as
a complex of persons, events, objects, and relations presenting an actual or potential exigence which can be completely or partially removed if discourse, introduced into the situation, can so constrain human decision or action as to bring about the significant modification of the exigence.
Explain what “exigence” is. Give your own example of an exigence someone could respond to in writing. Exigence is the imperfection marked by urgency.
To know your death date would be a great exigence for preparation of then last hours, minutes and then seconds of life.

Claim: parents that are trying to be their child’s friend as oppose of being a parent are supervising underage drinking in hope to control the behavior or outcome.
Data: According to the article, a teenager had a birthday party in her home last year as parents "supervised" their underage drinking. The parents, trying hard to be their teenage daughter's friend rather than her parents, allowed one 18 year old boy to slip away from the party with other intoxicated youth. Minutes later his life was slipped away and those that were in the car with him were seriously injured.
Warrant: Underage drinking is illegal. Parents should act in more of an authoritative manner with their children and teach them the outcomes and consequences of drinking outrageously.
Grounds: http: My data is correct. Backing: the legal drinking age in America is 21, therefore, the young man who was drinking was drinking illegally.
Qualifier: Parents should enforce illegality of drinking and address the consequences. They should discuss and tell their kids that there is other ways of having fun without drinking.
Conditions of Rebuttal: Teenagers are always going to engage and participate in activities that their parents will not condone. But, if the parent agrees to moderate drinking, than both parties will be satisfied.

What does Bartholomae mean when he says that students must “invent the university” when they write in college?
When Bartholomae states that students must “invent the university” when they write in college he is implementing a different flow of the students’ writing style. He enforces the idea that the students must be aware of their audience, sentence structure, word of choice, language, and their purpose for writing.
What does Bartholomae suggest is a way for students to become “insiders” within academic discourse?
Bartholomae suggest that students should imagine their both inside an established and powerful discourse and granted a right to speak.
Summarize some of the differences between the two examples of student writing that Bartholomae examines, and Bartholomae’s opinion of these examples.
The main difference between the two examples of the student’s writing was the different ways that they viewed creativity. As far as the football player creating a new way to wear sock was not quite original: he happened to think of a style that the other students weren’t familiar with or haven’t seen. He didn’t invent or create a new image. On the other hand, the other writer experienced a more original and skeptical way of creativity. She came to the realization that she wasn’t quite creative with her music. They were implemented and inspired by her favorite song selections.
In my opinion, she was creative because a lot of artist make music and produce songs through previous recording s of other songs or artists that they’re inspired by.

WASHINGTON – President-elect Barack Obama advised President George W. Bush on Monday that he intends to tap the remaining $350 billion in financial sector rescue funds and Bush agreed to submit the notification on his behalf to Congress, the White House said.
Congress would have 15 days to reject the request.
The request would give Obama not only the opportunity to get access to the money, but also to change its goals and conditions. The Bush administration's handling of the first $350 billion has come under widespread criticism in Congress and from watchdog organizations.
Obama and his economic team have signaled that he was eager to use the money to help reduce the number of mortgage foreclosures and that he wanted to place greater restrictions on institutions that receive the funds. The move comes as Democrats in the House of Representatives prepare to act on legislation that has some of the same aims.
Earlier Monday, Bush told reporters that he would not request the money form Congress unless Obama "specifically asked me to make it." About two hours later, White House press secretary
Dana Perino said that Obama had indeed asked Bush to submit the request.
The claim that is being made is the 35b bailout amount proprsed by President-elect, Barack Obama and tPresident Bush is not submitting the rquest.
The following text above is an example of a claim of fact
In the text, it states that Bush did not submit the request.
